I will travel in Italy for about 10 days, and I need a prepaid sim card just for data.
Just went over the sticky and previous Italy threads, I think I have everything understood.

One small issue though:
When I first started to use my phone for data in my home country, I had to send a SMS in order to get all the internet access points configured.
Is there a similar procedure I need to do in Italy? or should it be configured manually (and if yes, how do I do it in a Symbian 9.5 based Nokia phone)?

Hello,

Does anybody know if it is possible for a short time visitor to buy a prepaid SIM for voice + data in Sweden? If yes, which operator/package do you recommend? No big volumes of data, maybe up to 500 MB is more than enough.

Regards,

Starting November 15th 2010 all per KB rates will cease to exist for old and new Wind customers! :nono:

Starting from that date the only rate available for data (web) will be the time billed one, the horrible € 0.50/15 minutes (billed at 15 minutes increments).
No news about roaming rates, let's hope they will keep the actual, per KB, ones.

Also all old MEGA options will decease.
Mega1500 users will automatically migrate to Internet No Stop
Mega No Limit and Mega 15000 users will automatically migrate to Mega Unlimited.

So the only 2 data offers available will be:
- Internet No Stop: 9€/month, 1GB at full band (then 32kbps limitation applies)
- Mega Unlimited: 20€/month, 10GB at full band (then 32kbps limitation applies)

Time billed options will probably still be available, but they are already of no use.

Can anyone give some advice please?

A few years ago I purchased a new but activated UZO PAYT sim card on ebay to use while on holiday in Portugal. As I am off to Portugal again I checked on ebay without success to purchase another. I have googled and there are none to be found. I suppose like Italy and Spain due to new laws you now have to purchase and register a sim with various proof of ID in the country.

Can anyone tell me how easy or difficult is is for a non resident to purchase a PAYT sim?

Thanks.

Hello everyone. I'm in Germany currently and I'm having a little trouble with the aldi sim I bought.

I registered as a new customer on the median mobile site. I put down my hotel name as the address and put down the sim number and mobile phone number. I was then taken to a page where it told me my customer number and order number. It said something about waiting six hours and it had 2 links. No idea what they meant. My german is really appalling. I'm just wondering if my sim is registered now? I'm sure I've done something wrong I've not had chance to check it yet.

I've had no email and I thought it would ask me what tariff I would like to go on. Has anyone here got any clue about the registration process? I'll try the sim later but I thought I'd ask now. Just found a free wireless access point!

Thanks!

A few updates regarding some prepaid offers in Croatia. There seem to be 2 popular cards easily available from Kiosks in many touristy areas. Both are aimed at the tourist market, and have multilingual literature. I picked up the first of these, and unfortunately could not find out many details about the second (Tele2) offer. However, I am sure more can be found out from their website directly.

1. VIP Tourist SIM. Cost: 25 Kuna (approx €3.50). Credit included: 25 Kuna. Special features. Calls to all Croatian phones (mobile and fixed) and to most European landlines for 1 Kuna/minute (approx. 13.7c/min). Also SMS worldwideis charged at 1 Kuna, as well as each Megabyte of mobile data.

2. Tele2 Tourist SIM. Cost: 50 Kuna. (approx. €7) Credit Included: 25 Kuna. Special features. €0.07 worldwide calls (with some obvious exceptions). Free worldwide SMS for the duration of the SIM card validity (unknown). I do not think this SIM has any data functionality.

Hope this helps someone. Apologies to any unanswered PM's or emails while I was on holiday! ;)

Two weeks ago I visited Germany for several days. I bought the Tchibo prepaid package for Euro 19,95 and tried to get registered with the help of my friend and that of Google translate. Apparently I made some mistake, since after getting connected my account was 0 instead of the expected 5 GB. I suspect I simply confused the prepaid and the comfort options. Anyway, now I am outside Germany and the only thing I'd like to know whether I am registered or not and how can I top up my account next time I am in Germany ? Trying to login in to My Tchibo mobil, I am getting a message that my password is wrong. I tried to recover my password, but instead of e-mail, it has been sent by SMS to my Mobilfunknummer. I have no idea of how to receive this SMS.
Next month I will come to Germany, but I'd like to be entirely prepared while at home. I don't know German and I am not sure I will have an access to the Internet. I would like to buy the Tchibo voucher immediately after landing and being able to get connected just afterwards. Please :o

Blackberry touts this service as FREE to and from anywhere in the world.

However, TMobile USA Cust Care says that if used while roaming, there will be roaming data charges, which can add up pretty quickly. Anyone have personal experience with this for the facts? I think that possibly the TMO rep was guessing.

Similar situation with the BB/Wifi calling feature. Not clear that if the phone is WIFI connected to a Hotspot while roaming, if calls made back to the USA will be billed as if originated in the USA... Again, the Rep might have just been winging it, or trying to discourage use of the UMA feature this way!

Hello everybody.

Having arrived in France, I bought the 9Euro mobicarte on the orange.fr website.
So the question is, how do I activate that additional 5euro recharge credit? Thanks in advance.
