Default WTB: Non-US microsim in US to test iPhone unlock - 18-01-2012, 00:12

I've got a Verizon iPhone and would like to check out the "unlock" before I travel. I've tried T-mobile and ATT sims but they won't work. I'm looking for ANY foreign micro-sim, expired would be fine. I'd be happy to return it after I try it. I would prefer one that's here in the US to make mailing it easier (and cheaper).
Thanks

If it's on Verizon, won't that be a CDMA phone, and not compatible with GSM?

The 4S is one of their "world phones" that has both CDMA and GSM. While it has the bands, they've been able to block the use of ATT or T-mobile accounts. I'm not traveling for a few months but want to be sure that it works appropriately.
Thanks

Ok, apologies for my ignorance. I think the article I found to double check before posting was about a previous model

I don't have any micro-SIMs, but if you can arrange to borrow one of those punches, or would cut them yourself from a template, I could send some redundant ordinary ones

I hadn't thought about a cutter...I've got a few leftover SIMs myself. That may be my best option.
