Default NEED symbian cell for Italy.. - 16-08-2007, 03:42

I'm leaving in 2 weeks. My understanding is this is the best type for what I'm needing, which is IM (ICQ) and ability to surf the web.

Thank you!

Any phone with Java is ok, just use Opera Mini for the web and Mobicq for IM, both are free and easy to use. Look on eBay you can find very cheap deals...

Do the Java phones allow you to receive an ICQ message when you are not in the IM applet? I would think that the Symbian phones could be online all the time to keep the port open, even though that would drain the battery.

With Mobicq you have to keep the applet on, that's sure. Probably with a similar program for Symbian you can be "always on", but surely it can be a problem for the battery...
