According to the Polish portal on which I noticed this news, Rod Baber called his wife and children and sent a SMS: "One small text for man, one giant leap for mobilekind" :)

I was reading in the newspaper this morning that people climbing Everest now have to cross over the frozen bodies of climbers that didn't make it. It said that from 26,000 ft to the top is called the "dead zone" because of all the corpses.

3uk then send him a bill for £25.00p for a single text! despite him being on another network hehehehehehe
