Voipfone has announced increase in rates to various destinations including Uk mobiles. Most are now 12 pence/minute (they used to start from 8p/min) whereas calls to 07624 numbers are now 14 pence/min

UK mobiles are all 12p + vat = 14.1p

a bit disappointing really, especially as CallKey have also increased the SIM's own tariff, and I haven't got a 2nd reply to the email about that yet

Voipcheap.com is still 5p/min

It is even more!

On off peak periods they are even more expensive than BT!

I have not tested the quality of voipcheap to Uk mobiles. Has anyone else used it;

Call quality is good but you have to watch the website like a hawk to check
the rates haven't changed.
Most of the Fineura (?) companies have been changing free destinations and tweaking call charges over the last week or so.

The sounds of telecoms chickens coming home to roost.

A number of price changes are in the offing for UK destinations. This is due to BT reworking its wholesale delivery rates.

Consumer rates are also in for a change from October onwards, when BT intros a 3p per call handling charge for its residential and some business users.

Worth checking out http://www.phonecheap.co.uk/rates.php ('http://www.phonecheap.co.uk/rates.php') if you're in the UK, as their rates are about as cheap as they get, including 4p a minute for mobiles!
